Welcome to Mrs. Billington's Page!
Congratulation on making it to the third grade. Now the fun really begins!
Classroom News
I hope you all had a relaxing summer and are ready to begin the new school year! We will be spending the first several days getting to know each other and learning classroom expectation, routines, and emergency procedures. Students will also be learning how to choose a "just right book" and setting up their reading and writing journals. Place value and review of second grade basic math skills will be our focus in math. Our read aloud story for this week will be How to be Cool in Third Grade by Betsy Duffy.
Things to Remember
- Purple folders will be sent home each Monday with your child's academic and behavior grades. These folders must be signed and returned to me. If I do not receive your child's folder, I CANNOT send home weekly grades.
- Green communication folders are sent home on Wednesdays. Please remember to return them on the following day.
- Morning carpool drop-off will begin at 7:30 am and will take place in the area in front of the school. Afternoon carpool pick-up will begin at 3:05 pm and take place in the area in front of the school. Your child's mode of transportation can only be changed with written consent through email, fax, or a note in the green folder. Early checkouts are discouraged after 2:00 p.m.
- Our school is collecting Box Tops for Education. Clip them on all boxes you have in your house and send them in. Each one is worth 10 cents. The class collecting the most will win a special treat.
