- But Churchill Downs and the Yukon Wildlife Preserve are more unexpected
If you didn't Instagram it, did it really happen?
For many avid travellers, the answer is a resounding 'no.' Today, it's not uncommon for intrepid tourists to risk life and limb - literally - in the quest for the perfect shot to post.
But for those looking for a bit of inspiration for their next photo-worthy jaunt, bus booking platform, Bus Bud, has compiled a list of the most popular Instagram sights throughout Canada and the United States.

One of the most popular places for travellers to post an Instagram is at Alaska's Denali National Park. Pictured: Mt. McKinley as seen from the south
Using popular locations on TripAdvisor, the website looked at the destinations that produced the most hashtags for Instagram posts.
The popular spots were then ranked in every state, province and territory.
Of course, the tried and true attractions are well-represented - the glacial Denali National Park in Alaska, the Las Vegas Strip, and Arizona's iconic Grand Canyon, for example - but some popular spots are as striking as they are unexpected.
Unsurprisingly, the most common hashtags for images posted in Nevada reference the Las Vegas Strip
In Canada's Yukon Territory, a favourite spot is the Yukon Wildlife Preserve, where sightings of moose and Arctic fox are common
In Oregon, tourists should pay a visit to Cannon Beach to snap a photo of Haystack Rock
Home to the Kentucky Derby, the state's Churchill Downs race track is the most commonly Instagrammed place
Surprisingly, Jackson State University ranks as the top Instagrammed destination in Mississippi, while the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium is a favourite among amateur snappers visiting Pennsylvania.
And as far as America's neighbour to the north, Bus Bud recommends following in many Instagrammers footsteps and planning a visit to Nova Scotia's scenic Cabot Trail and the Yukon Wildlife Preserve where caribou, moose and bison roam free.
