I love the feedback about my driving habits. I appreciate the constructive criticism. The types of information seem thorough.

As mentioned by others on their reviews, it will deduct points for hard braking and acceleration, though circumstances warranted the actions.

Also, the collection of stars for a reward is a good idea, but I’m not really happy with items offered for me to spend my star currency on. So I am not motivated to spend them.

You may thank you are stopping smoothly, but as soon as an objective application starts taking measurements it will become abundantly clear that you are not as good a driver as you think you are. Now, I looked down the road so that I can stop smoothly. I watch my speed carefully, and I accelerate smoothly. If you have an analytical mind, you will find this objective data priceless.

It is an interesting app, and there are some things to be learned from it. But don’t take the score too seriously.

On several occasions it told me I was speeding by doing 34 in a 25 mph zone. However, what was wrong was that the 25 mph was only applicable when school children were present or warning lights are flashing.

Also, it flags for hard braking. There are times when hard braking is unavoidable due to something or someone doing something unexpected. For instance, an animal suddenly running out or another driver failing to yield the right-of-way. The app is not capable of seeing why you had to hard brake.

I realize that scoring drivers has become a popular metric. But, an app only sees part of a scenario and cannot replace the judgement of an experienced driver with an excellent driving record.
