Eleanor Lloyd-Jones is and always has been a perpetual daydreamer. A mum of one and a full-time primary school teacher, she spins plates and chases her tail in order that she can live out the dream she has had since being a little girl: to write stories.

Like lots of indie authors, her dream is to hit the big time, make all the lists and have some hot-shot movie producer pick up one of her books and turn it into the next blockbuster. Until that happens, she is content to type away, bringing her imagination to life, and just hopes that the people who read her words get some sort of enjoyment out of them and love her characters as much as she does.

What a beautifully written romantic love story! How my heart ached for Joey and Will. This book has everything I yearn to read in a mind-blowing romance novel: a great plot, great characters, great chemistry between the two main protagonists and a dark storyline filled with mystery to keep the readers reading when the romance part is temporarily toned down.

Joey is a great heroine. She is smart, funny, determined and really doesn’t take people’s crap very well. Her only weakness seems to be her heart. Joey cares too much sometimes.

Will, aahh, sweet, handsome…. He really is a prince charming under all that cold-hearted attitude and suppressed emotions. As the plot develops Joey and Will find passion between them that is totally erotic and yet sweet at the same time.

"Maybe all he needs is saving."

"This is what she wanted-all of him. His darkness and his light, his good and his bad and everything in between, no matter how ugly he thought it may be."

The story had some elements of Cinderella, but didn’t follow the traditional story exactly, but that’s ok. It was a wonderful story, and kept me interested and entertained. All in all a nicely told story and I am really looking forward to reading part two!!

In short:
Hero 5/5 | Heroine 5/5 | Plot (Point, Originality) 5/5 | Writing Style 4/5 | Steam 4/5 | Romance 5/5 | Angst-Suspense 4/5 | Darkness 3/5 | Humor 3/5 | Secondary Characters 4/5 | Drama-Conflict 5/5 | Mystery 4/5 | Twists 4/5 | Pacing Steady | Action 3/5

ARC REVIEW

I adored this book and read it one night, yep I stayed up late - but it was worth it.

The setting is charming, a country manor house that made me picture Downton Abbey and the staff/characthers gave the place homely feel, especially Bea - she reminded me of a Mrs Potts!

I was totally absorbed by this book and the main characthers Joey and Will <3

Joey, we are introduced to in the beginning of the book, she has to go to the big house to ask for help - I admit I was wondering when the book was set for a while. The authors do a great job pulling you in. As a characther Joey is bouncy, she is full of life and love and has a lot of sass to go with her caring nature.

Will is the brooding, moody, bordering alcoholic, oh and the gorgeous man of the house, it's obvious he has two layers, well a layer of shielding around him - but once peeled back, he is quite a catch.

I mentioned Mrs Potts earlier and this story has a touch of Beauty and the Beast feel to it, it's just a hint though. It also made me think of Downton and Pretty Woman, just little things - but it's a whole story of its own.

This book is beautifully written and pulls you into the pages, there is a mystery, intrigue, romance and sexy times and with all these things you go through a multitude of emotions.

This is a Duet book, so now I have to wait for the conclusion of the love story of Joey and William 💜

I’m a little lost for words right now having literally just placed my kindle down after reaching the end of this fabulous story. Beauty of a Monster was recommended to me, and is the first book written by either author that I have read. Even though there is no doubt that I will be moving on to the second book in this duet to continue this story, I’m certain that I will read more books by both authors in the future.

I will admit that it took a little while for me to become totally absorbed in this story but once I was I didn’t want to stop reading. I thought that the authors wrote this book beautifully. It is not only a story that captures your heart and has you feeling all the emotions, but it is also written in the third person which was a refreshing change and I loved how their words on the whole flowed so seamlessly throughout. There were a few times when it switched from one character to another in the following paragraph and I had to pause to work out who the story was with at that time, but that was easily resolved. Beauty of a Monster is a story of love, loss, mystery, blame and forgiveness and I loved how I was drawn in as the story developed; desperate to find out the secrets being kept from Joey by those at Wildridge Manor, and to learn the reasons behind Will’s actions.

Josephine is a young woman with a heart of pure gold. She is full of compassion and has this wonderful caring nature that has her putting others before herself. I can see why so many were taken with her. She has a personality that I couldn’t help but warm to. She brought new life and hope to Wildridge and I absolutely adored her sass.
William is a complex character and if I was to say he is not the easiest person to get along with, that would be an understatement. My heart broke for him many times. He is a young man with the weight of the world on his shoulders and I so desperately wanted him to face his demons and seek the help he needed to enable him to live a life away from bad memories and guilt.

I have to mention the secondary characters in this book as they all added to the story perfectly. I particularly loved Bea with her meddling ways. She brought a smile to my face many times.

What I adored about the story is watching the development of Joey and Will’s relationship. Will is very closed off and full of hurt, anger and blame, so witnessing Joey slowly peel away Will’s layers to find the person underneath the hard exterior was gripping. The authors had a wonderful way of entwining the characters which kept the story progressing whilst continuing to make me more intrigued to find the answers to the questions going around in my mind. I wanted to know, I needed to know, but I didn’t want to get there just in case any revelations undid the progress that had been made.

I’m delighted to have read Beauty of a Monster: Seduction and it gets a well-deserved 4.5 stars from me. I am eager to see if Will and Joey can find happiness in the concluding novel titled Beauty of a Monster: Redemption. I am very invested in them finding their HEAs together, which I feel would be the perfect ending.

So I have this friend, she's an avid reader like myself and we are usually on the same page when it comes to books. So one day she comes across a trailer for an upcoming book, sends me a link to it and it's safe to say we were drawn in from the get-go. So much so we decided to do this as a Buddy Read and a joint review.

Thank God I had a buddy to read this with and someone to take this journey with. I am grateful to have had someone to cry with, to hold my hand and not to mention someone to scream with in frustration.

From a magical point of view this starts off and you think you know the fairytale that's about to begin & you settle down with a wine.
But what you're sadly mistaken on is, your wrong this will take you on the journey which has to start in the past before we can look to the future.

Initially, I’ll admit it was going kind of slow for my liking, but now looking back it was like laying the pieces of a 1000 piece puzzle out on the table, with each subsequent chapter, piece by painstaking piece, inching closer and closer to a bigger picture. Each little piece like a bread crumb leading you into the dark abyss of the unknown, and believe me there were a lot of unknowns.

But for Josephine this is too much too take as she wants to move forward and standing still isn't what she wants.

Will on the other hand has things that are so deeply rooted like a tree, within him that the darkness somehow is his light

For the longest time I couldn’t figure out why Will was so angry?! What possibly could have happened to have made him this cold, bitter and just plain miserable? Then I thought, with such animosity how is it going to be possible for Joey to penetrate that icy cold facade Will had firmly in place? But with each encounter, she managed to thaw his heart little by little, only to have the wall of ice erected once again.

I’m not going to go into detail, cuz no one likes a spoiler and this journey is best travelled blindly, with only the words of these two amazing authors as your tour guide.

This will take you on a ride that you have to hold on for laughter Sadness tears & laughter, yip it has everything.

Are people really as they seem?

Can long standing relationships withhold the test of time.

Can anyone move forward or are we all waiting in the wings for a disaster.

This book definitely had it all…mystery and intrigue, “pull out your hair in frustration" moments, some laughs, definitely some heart ache and tears, and definitely moments that will have your heart singing as well. And isn't that the sign of good story telling?! When a story can take you on that emotional journey making all the emotional pit stops along the way, taking you to hell and back. I believe these ladies have done just that; but they are not finished, because my 1000 piece puzzle is not complete quite yet! I am looking forward to the second part of this tale and having all the pieces to complete the puzzle.

This review was written with my reading buddy Amo. (her part is written in bold)

There is so much to tell about this book.

I have to say that no matter how old you are, the draw of any "Beauty and the Beast" story is like a bug light! It draws you in immediately. There is a reason it's considered a "Tale as old as Time"

Eleanor and Katie upheld the expectations that come with a story this epic. Somehow they even made it more INCREDIBLE.

The characters are profound and intriguing and the authors weren't afraid to go outside the box of predictability. Instead, of being able to foresee most of the plot in a blur of corny romance we see them paint us a realistic but edgy new twist.

Our modern day 'Belle' Miss Jo is an colorful new personality! She has spunk, with a dash of moxie and a whole heart full of love. Her ability to see past the chaos of others and to give without expecting anything back is admirable but above all her sense of humor will keep the ball of entertainment rolling!

Jo comes with dreams, goals and a tastefully independent life but her loyalty to her father is kept at the top of her priority pole. She's DEVELOPED as a character so that by the time we walk into this story she is a living breathing woman with fears, anxieties, worries, hopes, drives and spirit.

She was a joy to read and even now I miss her. She's a reader's friend.

It takes real strength to love as she does in this book.

Will....oh Will... you perfectly imperfect model of male Delight with an unhealthy serving of damage on the side! There is nothing I love more than a self destructive male or female lead because that's the face of who we are in the human race. What do I love more? Seeing the characters slowly evolve past that point!

Though Will has his typical fall backs he is a fantastic work in progress and he holds his character throughout. Meaning the authors fully committed to his profile and didn't cheap out or cheat to mold him into something he's not or unrealistically change him at record speed to please the crowd. He is relatable for any woman who knows a "beast".

His tortured past is so well written and imagined that it not only explains his present life, it entwines him and Jo SO ARTISTICALLY you will do a double take.

He's a book boyfriend of all book boyfriends but his his gruff exterior is hotter than HELL. Alpha might be too light a word for a man like this.

The side characters are equally well constructed with depth to carry their own plot. A major plus in any story. Daniel was a top favorite and yes he has a go at Jo's heart as well. He presents enough of a challenge so that you really can't be sure where you'd rather see our Jo.

Both men represent such a beautiful side of what it is to love but you'll only know who gets the gold metal vs the bronze if you read the book. ;) ;)

The scenery, though it's a book not a movie... for some reason it's as vivid as a BluRay in my head. It's not tedious to read but feeds the starving imagination heartily.

This duo of Jones and Fox was breathtakingly extraordinary in their first collaboration but they have surpassed themselves with this prize read. They were fearless and trusted each other and their characters. Now I feel they are unstoppable and I can only brace myself for whatever golden gem is next.

It's an automatic buy for me. A don't think twice one click.

The book will leave you in a haze for days. I was thinking About it over and over and analyzing different angles to their situation.

The book literally seduces you.
If you've read the synopsis or seen the cover and if you even stopped to read this it already has you so just give in and grab it! It's worth every penny because neither author ever settles for less than brilliance.

As soon as the awesome duo of authors announced that they were teaming up again, I KNEW I had to be involved somehow! So when asked if I wanted to beta read, I practically snapped their hand off!! I also received a copy of this book to review.

At the beginning of the story, we meet Joey who is trying to care for her ailing father, and trying to not lose their house. Having no other choice but to ask to work for her fathers boss, she goes their to ask for help, even though her father has told her to stay far away.

She knows that she could quite possibly get shunned, but what she doesn't expect is to find the one person who hates her, the one person who blames her for everything bad that happened in his life. Or does he?

Throughout the whole story, you could feel like there was something; something that caused his intense hate toward her.

What Will doesn't expect is to be drawn to her. This part I particularly loved!

Watching them both grow throughout the book was lovely, but that ending had my heart breaking in two.
I'll tell you know, you'll try to guess what happened, what the underlying issue is, but you'll NEVER be able to!

WHAM! It'll hit you and I can guarantee that you'll be gasping and cursing!

The secondary characters in this story are amazing, and plenty of times I'd be bursting out at Bea, or Graham! Although, I hated Simon and-don't shoot me-but I didn't like Danny! I know! GASP! There was just something about him that would have my eyes narrowing at the screen! Haha!!

This is a two part series, and I CAN'T wait for the second book! Right faster ladies!!

So, when I first heard these two authors were writing together again, I KNEW I needed to read it! I was lucky enough to BETA read for them AND receive an ARC copy to review. So this is the second time I’ve read it. I believe it was supposed to be based very loosely on the beauty and the beast concept, but it’s so much more than that!

We meet Joey (Josephine) at the start and her and her father are struggling to make ends meet. She has a plan, but it involves going to her father’s former employer and seeking work. Enter Will (William) *heart eyes* and his broody ways.

As the story develops, we get a true sense of who each character is as well as a huge intrigue and insight into why it is that Will seems to have an intense dislike toward Joey. But the past can’t keep them away from each other and we see a more playful and loving side to Will as well as a feisty side to Joey. We also meet the amazing and heartwarming Bea, the seemingly grumpy Graham, and the charmingly sweet Danny who all add their own flair to the story.

A story of new-found love, curiosity, heartbreak and intrigue. It was gripping and enthralling and I can’t wait for book 2. I’m hoping this couple gets their HEA as well as seeing a lot more from the secondary characters!

I need book 2 like right now...you simply cannot end a story there and expect me to stay sane!!

I loved everything about this book. Josephine was such a strong and beautiful soul. Will was so broken. Dark, brooding, damaged, cruel, hiding horrible secrets. Everyone was hiding secrets from Josephine, and I, for the life of me, could not figure out what they were. But the whole time, Josephine was there, shining her light into Will, mending his broken pieces together. And Will, as he was becoming whole again, melted my heart. His demons ran deep though, and would not be easily fixed. His hopelessness and fear that he could never be enough for his Joey bring us to one hell of a cliffhanger, that I am anxiously awaiting.

Thank you, Eleanor, for allowing me a copy of this book in preparation of part 2 coming out. I'm not sure how I'm going to manage to wait for it!!! Those of my friends that like angst and broken heroes, this is definitely one you shouldn't miss!!

A spin on Beauty and the Beast with scenes that reminded me of Pretty Woman this story was woven with secrets and tension. Joey and Will are both intriguing characters, Joey often seems younger than her years with her innocence and optimism in contrast to Will's sullen broodiness but their attraction is undeniable.

The beginning of the story was really quite slow moving, but the last 20% packed a serious punch and took your breath away. I look forward to reading the second book and finding out what comes of everyone. I really hope Simon (who in my mind is based on Stuckey from PW) gets his comeuppance!

Wow this book!!!! Having read Katie and Eleanors first book together I knew this was going to be fantastic but nothing prepared me for this rollcoaster ride they both took me on!
Joey and Will’s story will rip your heart out, trample all over it,build it back up piece by piece only to have it happen all over again and I loved it!!
Joey comes to Wildridge Manor to take over her fathers job there, hes ill and they are finding it hard to make ends meet and keep their home.Shes caring ,thoughtful, strong willed with a big heart and a huge capacity for love. After much twisting of arms Joey is accepted to take her fathers place working for Will but Joey thinks shes working for his father. Will…broken, dark, brooding, silent and totally captivating accepts Joey working in his home as long as she keeps clear of him. Will and Joey butt heads right from the start and she doesn’t understand why he has so much anger for her and no one seems to be telling her a thing. As time goes on Will finds it increasing hard to deal with his past, his feelings for Joey and spends much of his time inside a whiskey bottle. When they can no longer deny the passion burning between them they explode into a red hot love affair that will change them both forever but with Will struggling to survive each day tormented by the past, secrets and guilt can he truly let Joey into his life? Joey just wants to help him become the man she knows him to be underneath all the hurt and rage but is she pushing Will too far too soon can they have a life together or will the secrets of Wildridge Manor tear them apart forever?

This book had my emotions all over the place I felt so much for Will I loved him,I shouted at my kindle because of him but what shone through was how deeply complex this man was, that he had lived with guilt and heartbreak his whole life but when Joey came to live at the manor he started to come back to life again. The way Katie and Eleanor told their story was truly beautiful. They weaved a web of mystery and intrigue keeping me guessing as to what had happened to make him this way,it will keep you hooked and captivated to the very last page. The heat between these two was hot and passionate you could feel it jumping out at you whenever they were together. The secondary characters I loved Danny,Bea and Graham... Simon not so much!!! This book needs to be read ,immerse yourself in their story ,go on the journey with them but be warned it ends on a cliffy I am now waiting patiently for book two I cannot wait to read the conclusion to their story.

Beauty Of A Monster is an intriguing , yet beautiful love story that is exceptionally well written. It has a great plot, with some fabulous characters and an air of mystery about it which makes it an absolute page turner.

From the first few chapters I felt it had a loosely based 'Beauty And The Beast' feel about it.......but in no way does it mirror the original story.........this book has its own story, in its own right.

Josephine (Joey) is a sweet, yet smart girl, with a sassy mouth at times - and this makes for some great humour throughout the story. Due to illness, her father is no longer able to do his job and in order to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table, she puts herself forward to take his place at Wildridge Manor working for Mr Marshall-Croft.

Enter Will, who I guess is the 'Monster' of the story.......although not really! As much as there is a brooding darkness about him and he can come across as cold-hearted at times, there is a mystery surrounding his past that makes him act the way he does. Deep down he is a sensitive soul who just needs to be shown some love and affection.

Together, Joey and Will have an amazing chemistry about them which makes for some very hot and steamy scenes.

I absolutely adored the secondary characters of Bea and Graham. There is some great banter between them, they really bounce off each other and are such loveable well-developed characters. Bea especially is quite the character......she was a little mischief at times...and had me laughing out loud.

Of course, there is always a villain of the piece - enter Simon.....I seriously hope he gets his comeuppance in Book Two....... there were some very unladylike words that left my mouth whenever he made an appearance!

In a nutshell, this romantic story was a definite page-turner full of mystery and intrigue....with just the right amount of humour thrown in to prevent it from being a truly dark story. I can't wait for the journey to continue........

I've decided that I'm not going to attempt to describe this beautiful story, because spoilers will inadvertently fly out to ruin it for others. So just read the blurb, and if that isn't enough, well, just READ THE BOOK! OMG, Joey is the female lead, and I couldn't have loved her anymore if I created her myself! She meets the drool worthy Will, when she needs to get a new job to take care of her sick father. But even though he's hot, he's very broody and emotionally cold, however, even though her heart cares too much, she doesn't tend to take crap from anyone. Their chemistry shot sparks out of my kindle, so I wanted them to imprint from the beginning. The plot was fast paced, original, and very addictive, so I couldn't turn the pages quickly enough. These two authors meshed together perfectly, as I would have never known that there were more than one author writing the smooth flowing story. But, now that just means that I have two new peeps on the list of authors trying to KILL ME, as now I'm chomping at the bit for the next book! With all of that being said, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND this absolutely brilliant story!

Oh my, this book! This beautiful, evil, soul destroying, sleep stealing, heart wrenching, stunning book!

Having read Eleanor Lloyd Jones before, I thought I knew what I was getting into with this one.

Ha!

No.

This book has everything. It has great characters, more unresolved sexual tension than you’ll know what to do with, mysteries that will have you tearing your hair out trying to work them out, and small subplots weaved into the fabric of, what is, a masterpiece. I do not use that word lightly.

The writing has this subtle edge to it that speaks of writers experienced in holding reader’s emotions in the palms of their hands and manipulating them at will. Make no mistake, these are master craftsmen who will leave you practically panting while gripping onto the edge of your seat for dear life.

And that twist at the end... All I can say is that I wanted to hunt both authors down and lock them away to force them to write me book two. Rumour has it that it’s on its way very soon, though, so I’m going to have to satisfy myself with stalking their amazon pages until I get what I want!

Wow! 'Beauty Of A Monster' is one of those books you just can't put down. Every page made me eager to read the next as I fell in love with the story and the characters.
I had certain ideas of how I thought the story and the characters would be but I was blown away by the journey I went on. The book was well written, with detailed descriptions and an intriguing plot woven around Wildridge Manor and all its secrets.
Joey, the main female character, is a strong, spirited women with a caring nature, who is willing to take a break from her life to help out her ill father.
Will, the main male character, is a tormented man, unsuccessfully trying to quieten his demons.
Expect chemistry, a touch of humour, new friends, old memories and a rollercoaster of emotions! A perfect recipe for a romantic tale full of mystery.
'Beauty of a monster' is must read and will captivate you too!

I can't even begin to describe my emotions right now. This book was absolutely phenomenal! Joey and Will's story had me going crazy saying "please jump in and take a chance" this story made my heart swell and then completely ripped it out and shattered it. So magnificently well written. Every line and character will make you fall in love and want so much more. Their past is making Will uncompromising but his love is strong. This was the first book I have had the pleasure of reading from these two authors and I'm so grateful that I did! Absolutely love it from beginning to end! You know when you are brought to tears, the power of these authors writing is deeply connected to you! I will be eagerly awaiting part 2. Redemption and love go hand and hand. I wish I could rate higher than 5 stars because this book is so much more <3

This is my first read by this duet and it won't be the last as I really enjoyed it.

I love Joey the main female character. She goes to her fathers former employer to look for a job to try and keep a roof over her and her sick fathers head. There she meets her new boss Will. He is so good looking but comes across as cold and moody.
Can the warm hearted Joey break through Wills hard exterior?

I really enjoyed this story. The storyline is brilliant and I loved the secondary characters. After that ending I hope I don't have to wait too long for book two.

This story is full of angst. The emotions are overpowering, anger, hatred but the one that really fights through is the need for redemption. Your heart literally breaks for these characters. You want to sooth them and tell them it will be ok. When you think the will get their HEA, the past repeats itself again.

God, it had me invested. The need to know the secret driven me mad. If you love a book that gives you the feels, read this.

A fantastical story surrounded by a vail of mystery and romance. Beauty of a Monster has the feels of a modern day fairytale with a twist. Each character made me feel warm with familiarity and I was gripped by the wording and pure elegance the authors used to shape this world. I look forward to reading the next part.

Another 'Beauty and the Beast' story -- I've just got to stop hoping I'll find one that's any good...

A desperate Josephine's (aka Joey) prayers are answered when she's hired (apparently as a maid) at Wildridge Manor, home of the morbidly reclusive (but gorgeous) William Marshall-Croft. William has come to terms with his solitary existence, and demands that Joey stays out of his sight when she's working. Joey has sweet childhood memories of the estate where her father worked; and she can't figure out why William is so determined to hate her so much. Gradually, Joey begins to free William from his solitary existence...with lots of caring and sexy times. However, when she learns the truth about the link between William and herself, she's devastated. How can she and William ever find a future when he can't (or won't) shed the burdens of his past?

There's not a lot new here -- tortured 'hero' is brought back to the land of sweetness and light by a brave heroine. William has the cold and remote hero thing going as well; he's brutal to everyone around him, and needs therapy more than anything else. Joey seems to thrive on rejection -- and keeps coming back for more...so maybe they could go together.

In addition to the less-than-appealing characters, the writing style is awkward, and there are plenty of errors in grammar and writing mechanics that pull you right out of the story -- especially my pet peeve: ending sentences with prepositions (over and over and over again)....

So....just 1 star.

Joey & Will’s story is more than meets the eye, you can find healing in letting someone in but in Will’s case it opens up a whole bunch of unresolved issues from his past. Can the past and present be resolved for them to have a future?
Well that question remains in book two!
These authors will have you reaching for book two with both hands! Well done Ladies!

I was provided this book in exchange for an honest review.

Let me start by saying - If I could give it more than 5 stars somehow, I would. I am slightly biased - I adore these authors. Their previous collaboration (Whispers From The East) was spectacular and I was sooo excited to receive this one. Now, I'm on tenterhooks waiting for the next installment of both!

Anyway, this story...

Will and Joey - not quite forbidden love in the traditional sense but that nonetheless.

Joey has put her personal dreams on hold in order to be able to care for her father. Their need for an income after he's been forced to give up work brings her to the house where; unbeknownst to her, Will resides and runs the family business. Joey is misled from the outset as to who her employer really is and initially doesn't even know Will exists; instead believing its Will's father who runs the place. She meets Bea and Graham who also work at the house and they work with Will in keeping his secret.

Will is reluctant to even employ her at all for reasons which are revealled through the story but is swayed by Bea's influence. Will is battling some serious demons and he has no intention of allowing Joey into his life other than in the capacity she has been employed within his household but what kind of story would that make?

Their joint past is something which is uncovered bit-by-bit as Joey coaxes Will out of the shadows and into the light. He fights her every step of the way but their journey of discovery is one you will never forget.

The setting of an old Manor House is perfect. The descriptions from the authors of the layout of the house and surrounding grounds bring thoughts of Pride and Predjudice to mind. The rose gardens are a beautiful touch and I could even smell the beautiful scnet in my mind as I read the relvant scenes. I heard the sheets as they were shaken off furnitre for the first time in decades, tasted the dust in the air and smelled the musty smell of the loft/attic space. The way these two write puts you right there, perfectly in tune with the characters, touching what they touch, feeling what they feel in a way so few other authors are able to achieve.

At times during the story, I was ready to shout at Will and Joey, beg Graham and Bea to 'just say' 'just do' something or tell Simon to 'do one'. Simon is the necessary evil of the story, the down-right complete and utter pig who genuinely needs a slap (or worse) and serves his purpose very well. Will is a bit of a numpty sometimes but he's not malicious or unkind - Simon helps you see the difference a little.

Bea and Graham should definitely have had a relationship at some point in the past - they remind me so much of their counterparts in Downton Abbey (BBC TV show) and I definitely hope to get to know them both more in the next story.

The story is tantalising, sensual, romantic, crazy, all-consuming and will absolutely keep you wanting more!

The final reveal is catastophic in many ways! Will they make it? Are they doomed by their past? Can childhood actions have an ever-lasting impact?

For me this book was very much a slow burn, but not in any typical way. After I finished this book I really wasn't sure I liked it, but, a few days later I was still thinking about it, regardless of the fact that I'd read other books in between I couldn't get it out my head. So much so that several days after my first read I was actually rereading it. That is definitely something I'd recommend to anyone who reads this, reread it at least once, this is one of those books that it seems that every time you read it you discover something new inside. The characters in this book are many and varied, above all though they were real. Not a single person in this book falls flat, each character is unique and as is the case in real life, not all of them are overly likeable, there were times when I really disliked some of them but regardless I found myself heavily invested in each of their stories. As for Joey and Will, their story isn't really hearts and flowers. Its hard to take at times and I found myself on several occasions wondering just what they were playing at, I wanted to shake some sense into them but above all I wanted them to find their happy. They are flawed and frustrating at times but they are real. As character's go they are certainly a stand out pair but possibly not for the typical reasons. I didn't fall instantly in love with either of their characters and to me that just ups the realism of them (I hated all my IRL friends when I first met them too pretty much) they didn't always make rather best decisions but who does? To me this book is not your typical romance, although it is there the book explores so many other types of love. The love that the various characters have for each other in its many forms is certainly one of the stand out themes. It is a very character driven book but one in which each character plays their part to perfection. Once again the authors draw you in from the very first page and the imagery is phenomenal. There are surprises in store as the book goes on though and no matter what you may think is going to happen you cannot imagine what is coming next. It'll take you by surprise every time and you'll find yourself unable to put it down until the very last word where it is likely you will need some time to just process all that happened. All that's left to say really is that I hope the authors are making good progress on the next part cause I for one cannot wait to see what's yet to come.

Beauty of a Monster: Seduction was a great 5 star read.

Once I started I couldn’t put it down. I needed to know what the big secret was and why Will hated Joey so much.

Joey’s father was sick and unable to work, they were behind on bills and on top of that had gotten a letter from his boss telling him to return to work or lose his home. Joey takes it upon herself to go see her dad’s boss and offer to work in his place.

Will was talked into letting Joey come and work for him but the contract she signed specifically noted that she stay away from him. His workers are the ones that will deal with her, under no circumstances is he to see her.

What could she possibly have done that significantly impacted Williams life? He hates me and I don’t even know why.

But of course eventually Joey meets Will and there is an instant connection between them. A chemistry that really pulls at Will and he ends up taking what he wants from Joey, which throws her in a spiral of confusion. The scenes these two have are off the charts hot.

He couldn’t be near her because being near her was too painful.

Just when you think that things are going great, Will does a huge 180 on Joey that left me sobbing with tears rolling down my cheeks. He has a huge wall built up around his heart and when he finally reveals the truth to Joey be prepared for ugly crying. I had a love hate relationship with Will because of the pushing and pulling of Joey’s heart but boy when you find out the truth your heart just breaks for what this poor man has gone through and how he has dealt with it. And the huge cliff hanger ending, OMG why did you do this to me? I am in desperate need of the next book so I can see what happens. I will be impatiently waiting for book two.

Beauty Of A Monster is a heartfelt, sizzling love story that will make your heart race!

I was totally absorbed by this book from the very start. This story had everything - beautiful writing, unpredictable and intriguing storyline, realistic characters, charming setting, and mystery.
We meet Joey, the main female character, at the start. She is seeking work at her father’s former employer so she can care for her ill father and keep a roof over their heads. Joey is a sweet character with such a big heart. She is also a loyal, caring, determined and hardworking woman.

Will, Joey new boss, is haunted by secrets from the past. He is moody, brooding and rude. He had lived with guilt for so long, his only escape is a whiskey bottle. He’s also a gorgeous broken man who is lonely and needs to be saved. He totally captivated me!

Joey meets her new boss who seems to hate her for some reason. But as time goes on, her sunny personality brings not only the manor back to life, but Will as well. She quiets his demons and breaks the walls he built around his heart.

Joey and Will have an intense chemistry. Prepare yourself for some steamy scenes! Those two will take two steps forward and then five steps back taking you on a rollercoaster of emotions. Watching them fall in love and grow throughout the book was amazing! I loved that we were shown their full struggle, there was no magic overnight healing. Joey will try to help Will see that he’s a beautiful man hiding behind the mask of hurt he created. Those two together will steal your heart!

The secondary characters Bea and Graham were unbelievably well-developed. It is not often I feel so connected to the characters, but Eleanor and Katie have accomplished just that.

I couldn’t guess the mystery behind Will's past till the very end. It was a huge and very emotional surprise. The revelation brought me to tears.

I can’t wait for the second book!

4.5 beautifully tragic stars!! This book would not let me go.

This book ends in a damn crazy cliff hanger and therefore is the first book of the duet.

This is Will and Joey's story...

Something tragic took place 20 years ago. Something so tragic it is still effecting people and therefore is to remain a secret. The Wildridge mansion and riding house staff know you do not speak of the past. Mr Croft runs said estate and the beautifully dark messed up man has forbid speaking of the past. Until the past barges right into his front door....

Joey was suppose to be in college right now but her father became ill and now she is knocking at the one door she never thought she would be at begging for a job. But this jerk of a man apparently has no desire to even be in the same room as Joey. Something is not right here and Joey is going to figure it out...

This story is just so beautiful yet painful. The whole book they kept hinting at the past but until you hear the full story, you will never understand fully. Oh how I just wanted these two to stay happy and get married. But demons are difficult to rid of. And that damn ending!!! Oh my I like WTF!! I need the next book now!!

I loved all the characters. Joey is such a beautiful woman with a huge heart. Will had some real problems that need to be addressed. That poor man. But omg did I ever want to help him fix himself. Yummy!! And that little shit Simon..yuck!!

This book was written with a easy flowing romantic style and where you get to hear from everyone's point of view. Which I definitely enjoyed. I'm not sure if the authors were trying to do this but it definitely gave me a beauty and the beast kind of vibe. I was so wrapped up in this story! This is a great read and I can not wait for book two.

I have always found reading in the 3rd person a difficult task when it comes to the romance genre, I honestly can count on one hand the amount of authors that manage to pull me in.

Once it happens, I'm immersed and transported to the world without so much of a blink that the way the words are taken over and it's like a movie playing in my head, vivid and beautiful as each page quickly turns leading me to the halfway point.

I am so pleased that I can now add these two brilliantly talented authors to that elusive list.

A complex tale of mystery, intrigue, heartache, love and heat, that takes its time to build and intertwine so intricately it paints an exquisite picture leaving you reaching the end and wanting so much more !

The characters have a depth and a connection that is cleverly weaved in such a delicate way that helps you as the reader fall in love with the tale easily it leaves an imprint on your heart.

Joey is full of life and sass, but she has such a compassionate and caring nature, it's easy to feel endeared by her and class her as a friend as you read, feel and root for her in anyway you can.

Will is the lord of the manor, but is so deep rooted with guilt it's impossible to see what's clearly in front of him, the wall he has built to guard himself from others is almost impenetrable until Joey.

Watching these two characters interact is wonderful and then add the supporting characters who are all so carefully developed and have thoughtfully been given life with twists of fate on their own. That it just adds layers and depths to the already beautiful tale.

" A Tale as old as Time " given a new lease of life and far from a sweet tale of romance as you can get. I cannot go away from this book without giving it its full worth and I'm simply excited by Part 2

5 beautifully bright Stars

A skillfully woven tapestry...full of dark and light threads..

Well this was a rather unexpected book full of surprises...... a skillfully woven tapestry of dark and light threads......the wonderfully original opening chapter confirmed this as a modern day Mary Shelley or Bram Stoker novel with a foreboding manor, a young beautiful, guileless woman, a manservant barring entry and an apparently heartless and mysterious landowner unwilling to listen to the heartfelt cries of the daughter of a beleaguered employee.....deeply moving in parts it was a book of love and hate, redemption and guilt, passion and loss ......all these elements contributed to the book's gothic theme and atmosphere...

I loved the world the author imagined on to the page and the realistic characters that inhabited it.....I was fascinated by the mystery surrounding the two main characters, Joey and Will, two apparently unconnected individuals linked by some event in their past....there was a menacing atmosphere of uneasiness focused on Will counterbalanced with the breath of fresh air that was Joey..........this may have been fashioned in a gothic style but their relationship was intense and steamy nevertheless...

The author tended to tell the story in present day with flashbacks and retrospective recollections..I did find this mixture of storytelling devices confusing at times finding it tricky, on occasions, to follow the timeline as it moved backwards and forwards...

Undoubtedly this was a captivating and intriguing story filled with dark secrets, guilt and suppressed emotions and memories.....the cliffhanger ending leaves many unanswered questions which I anticipate will be addressed in the sequel...... This book was reviewed for Summer's Eve Reads...
