Aiutiamo Nello a migliorare la sua nuova vita

Seguire costantemente i propri sogni e poi ritrovarsi nel buio totale, è quello che è successo a Nello.

Salve a tutti, siamo Francesco e Loreta, i genitori di Nello e viviamo a Forio, un comune della meravigliosa isola d'Ischia (Napoli).

Nello è un ragazzo solare, semplice, ricco d'amore, buono e soprattutto pronto ad aiutare chiunque nel momento del bisogno.

Le sue passioni sono le moto e il judo, quest'ultimo uno sport che gli ha insegnato il rispetto e la disciplina.

Come tutti i suoi coetanei ha il sogno personale nel cassetto: comandante di navi da crociera.

Purtroppo Il 12 novembre del 2020 subisce un terribile incidente con lo scooter che gli procura un danno cerebrale tale da portarlo in coma.

La milza gli viene asportata e si attua un trasferimento in elicottero dall'Ospedale di Ischia all'Ospedale del Mare di Napoli, dove rimane in terapia intensiva per 18 lunghi giorni.

Per noi sono attimi terribili, con il cuore a mille e pieni di angoscia per la sorte del nostro amato figlio.

Nello è lì, fragile, solo, così giovane ad affrontare la sua battaglia per la vita grazie all'operato dei clinici, ma lontano dagli affetti per via della pandemia. Dunque una sofferenza nella sofferenza, difficile da spiegare e da sopportare.

Dopo la rianimazione il guerriero viene trasferito in un centro di neuroriabilitazione a Benevento, dove anche in questo caso viene negata la possibilità di stare vicino a nostro figlio.

Trascorso un intero mese di totale impotenza, purtroppo la situazione in questo istituto non è delle migliori. A questo punto decidiamo di firmare le dimissioni volontarie contro il miglior parere medico per garantire a Nello le cure possibili nell'Istituto di Montecatone in Emilia Romagna, distante circa 600 km da casa nostra.

L'equipe riabilitativa di questo centro ci permette di stare al fianco di nostro figlio che inizia visibilmente a migliorare. Nel frattempo festeggiamo i suoi 18 anni in clinica. Allo stesso tempo diventiamo consapevoli del fatto che il viaggio che stiamo affrontando all'interno dei disordini della coscienza è lungo, doloroso e ricco d'insidie. Ma Nello è un ragazzo dal carattere tenace e determinato e la sua forza diventa la nostra.

Per garantire a nostro figlio la migliore qualità di vita possibile, in futuro sarà necessario oltre all'amore che da sempre lo circonda anche di determinati percorsi di cura molto onerosi: frequentare cliniche specializzate probabilmente anche all'estero, terapie a domicilio, ausili fissi e mobilita, ecc..

Ed è per questo che attiviamo questo crowdfunding, affinché si possa ricevere l'aiuto da parte di tutti per poter migliorare la nuova vita di Nello.

NELLO'S STORY (English translation).

Constantly following one's dreams and then finding oneself in total darkness is what happened to Nello.

Hello everyone, we are Francesco and Loreta, Nello's parents and we live in Forio, a town on the wonderful island of Ischia (Naples).

Nello is a sunny boy, simple, full of love, good and above all ready to help anyone in times of need.

His passions are motorcycles and judo, the latter a sport that has taught him respect and discipline.

Like all young people of his age, he has a personal dream in the drawer: to become a cruise ship captain.

Unfortunately, on November 12, 2020, he suffers a terrible accident with the scooter that causes him brain damage such as to bring him into a coma.

His spleen is removed, and a helicopter transfer is carried out from the Hospital of Ischia to the Hospital of the Sea in Naples, where he remains in intensive care for 18 long days.

For us these are terrible moments, with our hearts racing and full of anguish for the fate of our beloved son.

Nello is there, fragile, alone, so young to face his battle for life with the grateful help of the staff of the hospital, but far from the affections of his family due to the Covid pandemic. Therefore, a suffering in suffering, difficult to explain and to bear.

After resuscitation, the warrior is transferred to a neurorehabilitation center in Benevento, where also in this case the possibility of being close to our son is denied.

After a whole month of total helplessness, unfortunately the situation in this institution is not the best. At this point we decide to sign the voluntary resignation, against the medical opinion, to guarantee Nello the best possible care in the Montecatone Institute in Emilia Romagna, about 600 km from our home.

The rehabilitation team of this center allows us to be at the side of our son who is visibly beginning to improve. In the meantime, we are celebrating his 18th birthday in the clinic. At the same time we become aware of the fact that the journey we are making within the disorders of consciousness is long, painful and fraught with pitfalls. But Nello is a boy with a tenacious and determined character and his strength becomes ours.

To guarantee our child the best possible quality of life, in the future it will be necessary, in addition to the love that has always surrounded him, to also take certain very onerous treatment paths: attend specialized clinics, probably also abroad, home therapies, fixed aids and furniture, etc ...

And that is why we activate this crowdfunding, so that we can receive help from everyone to try to improve Nello's new life.
