When they come to make the movie of the astonishing survival of four children in the remote jungle of Colombia, there will be a small but vital cameo role for a turtle.

“In the beliefs of our elders, if you find a turtle, you can ask it for a wish and that wish will come true,” said one of the indigenous people involved in the rescue.
