The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and UNLV College of Fine Arts Presents: Diversity in Art, A Celebration of Las Vegas
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and the University of Nevada Las Vegas College of Fine Arts is seeking ambitious local artists who wish to continue their education in the arts and create an original mural about what makes Las Vegas unique and diverse. The selected artist will create their mural at the main employee entrance of the resort, welcoming the 5,000+ employees to work every day.

Important Dates

September 22 – October 15 | Submissions Open
Local artists will submit 2-5 sample artworks, one letter of recommendation, and a one-page personal statement detailing their history and love for Las Vegas; what makes Las Vegas unique and diverse and why they are looking to further their education in the arts. - October 29 | 10 artists will be notified

November 19 | Final sketch submissions due
Wall measurement is 41’ x 8’ with a minimum design size of 10’ x 8’. - December 10 | Winner will be announced

Submit Your Work
Once selected, the winner will bring the diversity mural to life as a permanent art installation within the resort’s robust Accessible Art Program. Additionally, the winner will be awarded a four-year scholarship for continuing their education in the arts at UNLV.
Both the cost of materials to create the mural and scholarship will be covered by The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Questions regarding the timeline or project can be directed to artscholarship@unlv.edu.
