Our Mission

AI in Medicine's mission is to create a community of inclusive multidisciplinary individuals, healthcare providers, patient advocacy groups and researchers to help them on the journey of discovery, by proactively educating and connecting them with expertise from interdisciplinary backgrounds. By understanding the data, we hope to speed deployment of healthcare delivery systems to improve overall care.

What is the AI in Medicine Datathon?

48-hour datathon that focuses on cancer patient's health through the dataset from the Roswell Park DataBank and BioRepository Shared Resource. The challenge is to create a model that uses a dataset of various cancer cases which includes multiple clinical variables such as cancer stage and morphology to predict patient survival. The datathon will also feature workshops, discussion panels, and performances.

We envision a team-based event and collaboration to be facilitated via tools such as WebexTeams, Google Drive, Zoom, Kaggle and Github.

Prizes will be awarded to the following categories:

  • Top Accuracy Model entries.
