Helping the world's biggest SaaS grow at Minuttia | Helping 2,000+ readers get smarter about growth at GrowthWaves

ANNOUNCEMENT A few months ago, I launched a newsletter on B2B growth called GrowthWaves. Since its inception, GrowthWaves has... - Grown to ~2K active subscribers - With an average open rate of ~60% - And people who love what we're doing Today, we're announcing the premium version of GrowthWaves. What's inside? - Full access to our growing Archive of 20+ exclusive case studies, frameworks, interviews, and more. - One exclusive Note per month (not available to regular subscribers). - Quarterly webinars and AMAs. - Monthly Office Hours. - And more. Why am I sharing this? Well, if you know one thing or two about how I conduct business, then you know that I'm not the hard sell and "please-give-me-some-attention" kind of guy. That's how we built Minuttia, and that's how we're building GrowthWaves. I'm sharing this because I believe in what we do and know that if your goal is to *get smarter about growth,* you need GrowthWaves Pro. No push. Just take a look at our Pricing (in the first comment), and if you like what you see, become a Pro member. Ahh, and keep in mind that we run a special promotion for the first 100 people who'll become Pro members: 50% off for the 1st year by using 'FIRST100' at checkout. Note: The number isn't just a marketing gimmick to add urgency; seats are automatically limited to 100 through Stripe. That's all. Thank you all for your support! 🙏🏻

In 2023, the traditional content marketing playbook—reliant on text-based, SEO-driven content—reached its expiration date. AI tools like GPT-3 have democratized content production and leveled the playing field. So, simply having content is no longer enough; the content must be exceptional and distinctive. And today’s B2B buyers seek originality, engagement, and personal connection, attributes often diluted in typical SEO-focused content. Here are key reasons why diversifying your content is crucial: 1. Better Engagement Diverse content types cater to different user preferences and learning styles, which can significantly increase user engagement. 2. Broader Reach Each content type has the potential to reach different segments of your audience on various platforms. 3. Improved SEO Diverse content types contribute to a richer site structure and provide more opportunities for keyword optimization and backlinking, which are critical for SEO. 4. Higher Conversion Rates Different types of content can aid in nurturing leads at various stages of the buyer’s journey. 5. Long-Term Value and Reusability Content diversity allows for the repurposing of core ideas across different formats, maximizing the ROI of your content creation efforts. SEO remains a crucial element of B2B digital marketing. However, its role should be viewed as part of a broader, more diversified B2B content strategy that includes various forms of content.

The best marketers do two things when building a strategy. They use data to inform their decisions. But they also use their gut feeling, as if they are skipping unnecessary steps to reach a conclusion faster.

Shopify's Driving Pipeline with Free Tools The company that we’ll discuss today, doesn’t need introductions. They dominated the ecommerce industry. And we’re speaking about Shopify. Shopify has built an incredible library of tools that drives a lot of traffic and as we’re going to see, conversations. Shopify’s tools directory ranks for 121K keywords and drives about 1 million sessions per month. Note: The above numbers are from Ahrefs as seen on Wed., April 10th. Yet, their Business Name Generator tool drives 480K sessions per month and ranks for 47.2K keywords, including the following: - name generator: 411K/month - business name generator: 137K/month - company name generator: 32K/month - brand name generator: 21K/month It's impressive to see one tool ranking in the top spots for these competitive keywords. If you need a name for any business, Shopify will be there. But the interesting thing is how they approach these free tools to convert searches to customers. What are your thoughts on mini-tools as a growth tactic? If you're interested in learning the growth strategies of top companies, then subscribe to the Adaptive Content Marketing newsletter. Limitations of an SEO-Only Strategy For one, search engine algorithms are continually changing. The introduction of features like Google’s BERT and the recent shift towards AI-driven Search Generative Experiences (SGE) is altering the content marketing landscape. These updates aim to enhance the user experience by prioritizing the context and intent behind search queries—lowering the predictability of traditional SEO tactics. Secondly, a singular focus on SEO often leads to content saturation and makes it harder to stand out purely through search rankings. Additionally, SEO-focused content often falls short of fostering genuine engagement. It tends to be formulaic, prioritizing keywords rather than deep, insightful discussions that resonate on a human level. Read our guide on content diversification from the link in the comments. 👇
