Help us celebrate Congressman John Lewis’ birthday on Wednesday, February 21st on what would have been his 84th birthday by posting a picture with John Lewis and reflect on his legacy. If you have a “selfie” with John Lewis, or a regular picture with him, post it using the hashtag #JohnLewisSelfie. If you don’t have a picture with him, that’s ok. You can also post a picture with a book written by him (there are several to choose from). Or, you can post a picture in front of a school or building named after him. Click through to our website for details: https://lnkd.in/eHF6tp4A As Michael E. Collins, our Board Chair, said in the press release, "It has been almost four years since he left us. We miss his voice and his leadership now more than ever. If he were here, he would encourage us to keep the faith, to not get lost in a sea of despair. Continue to engage and most importantly do not give up, do not give in, and do not give out.” Detria Austin Everson, our CEO, said, “The Foundation’s goal is to carry on Congressman John Lewis’ legacy, share his teachings and encourage people to live a purposeful life. This campaign will celebrate his birthday and create community.” If someone wants to participate, but they are not on social media, they may email a picture with an explanation of how John Lewis inspired them to info@jlmlf.org. We’ll share as many of your pictures as we can on social media and on our website: https://lnkd.in/eHF6tp4A Please share this with your friends and colleagues.
