Solar Eclipse Update
On Monday, April 8, 2024, a Solar Eclipse will occur over our region around mid-day. Specifically for the Northern New Jersey area, the eclipse is anticipated to take place between 2:09 pm and 4:35 pm, with the peak expected from 2:49 pm to 3:57 pm. Notably, this timing coincides with our usual dismissal time, which raises significant safety concerns for our students and staff. Directly viewing the sun during an eclipse without proper certified eye protection can result in serious eye damage.
Given these safety considerations, Monday, April 8th, will now be a one-session day for all students and staff. Consequently, all aftercare and after-school activities are canceled. High school sporting events will experience a delayed start time.
