Doing sales follow ups is an important part of every succesfull marketing or sales campaign. Sometimes you don’t know if they didn’t read your first email, overlooked it or maybe just forgot about it.
There are many ways you can do follow up emails and usually it is a good way to trigger a respons, if you didn’t get one when you sent your first email. Also it shows a level of seriousness and commitment, that differentiates spam and actual intentions, which is very important.
When sending follow up emails, there are some things that you must be aware of. You need to be:
- Honest ✅
- Clear in your message and intention ✅
- Friendly and open minded ✅
- And believe in what you are selling ✅
Template for follow up emails
Your follow up email needs to refer to the first mail that you sent, otherwise it is not much of a follow up. 🤔
It could look something like this: 👇
Hi again (NAME).
I’m reaching out to you regarding my previous proposal about (YOUR PRODUCT/SERVICE), which I strongly believe would be a great addition to your company. We are very excited to tell you more about it and start a potential partnership!
Looking forward to hear back from you!
Best regards, (YOUR NAME & COMAPNY)
Show them the value
Where you can reallt make the difference here, is by letting them know, how your products or services can benefit their company or them personally. I can promise you that your customers will ask themselves the question “Whats is in it for me?”
That is why it is really important for you to let them know, how your products or services can add value to them, so they see a reason why they should be interested in your proposal 😎
Obviously, this is different depending on what you are selling, so make sure you incorporate this in the template, so it becomes more professional and more personal.
Mailtrack is a great tool that you can add to your Gmail account. It lets you know if your mails have reach the recipient, if they haven’t seen it, or if they have opened your email.
So what this means is, that Mailtrack will send your read receipts, just like you get on WhatsApp, which can help you align your follow up mails properly, so you don’t spend unnecessary time and recourses.
F.x. you don’t want to do follow ups on customers who haven’t received your first email, and if you can see that some recipients haven’t opened your first mail, it might be because you landed in their spam filter. 👎
If this is the case, you can start adjusting your approach or change your emails to something that is less likely to end up in the spam filter. 👍
This way, Mailtrack can give you a lot of valuable information, which you can use to adjust and improve your emails ✍️
